Stay Powered Wherever You Ride: Plug-in style cigarette lighters have
long been a staple in the automotive industry as
the power source for everything from radar detectors and GPS navigation
systems all the way to mini-TVs, computers and cell phone chargers. Now
motorcyclists can enjoy the same level of convenience with the new
Handlebar Power Outlet
"This is the next generation of handlebar-mounted cigarette lighter
sockets," explains Powerlet marketing manager Adam Bonislawski.
"Intended for bars from 1-1/8 inch up to 1-1/4 inch diameter, this
socket set-up is
CNC-machined from billet aluminum and packaged with a 60-inch wire
harness... and unlike other auxiliary wiring sets, ours even includes
an actual cigarette lighter."
Built to meet or exceed OEM specs of any powersports product, including
motorcycles, ATVs and personal watercraft, the AKT model Handlebar
Power Outlet is fabricated from Marine grade materials and designed to
function easily even while
the rider is wearing gloves. "We designed it to fit a multitude of
handlebar thicknesses or even frame rails and every Powerlet kit comes
complete with rubber-filled sleeves to ensure a tight and secure fit,"
Adam adds. This is
our premium handlebar- or frame-mounted solution, Powerlet also offers
an entry level model with a plastic rather than the CNC-machined billet
"Our product line was inspired by personal experience and the
realization that there were no worthwhile options for clean, reliable
on-board power for cell phones, stereos and GPS devices," reiterates
Bonislawski. "Before we
came on to the scene, riders would bust out the black tape and wire
strippers and cut into their bike's fragile wiring to tie-in a cheap
cigar lighter to power their devices." Never again.
Motorcycles, snowmobiles and ATVs create a demanding environment for
any peripheral add-on. The ideal electrical system connection must
provide security while at the same time the ability to easily
disconnect when required. Designed to not
vibrate out, Powerlet cables and plugs exceed all vibration, size and
amperage requirements. "Our engineers make sure the connectors are
compatible, fuses are sized correctly and that voltage is properly
regulated for safe
operation," Bonislawski adds. "Powerlet's quality products are built to
last a lifetime and priced to not break your wallet."
