QUICK QUESTIONS FOR JOSH FREDERICK

WORCS UPDATE

As a prelude to this weekend's WORCS race at Cahuilla Creek in the mountains above Hemet, California, we got together with points leader Josh Frederick for a few quick questions. Here's what he had to say.

HOW COMPETITIVE IS THE WORCS SERIES THIS YEAR?
It's really tight. I only have the lead by a few points. It can still go any direction. It's not like some years where one rider can dominate.

DO YOU HAVE A HOME-TRACK ADVANTAGE HERE?
I ride here a lot because Motoworks sorts of runs the track, but I'm a long way from home. I don't think I have an special advantage here.

WHO WILL BE TOUGH TO BEAT?
I think that Beau Baron and Dustin Nelson will be good, like always. Both of them are really good motocrossers and this is still basically a motocross track. WHERE

DO YOU FEEL YOU HAVE AN ADVANTAGE?
I'm a desert guy. I'm from Las Vegas and so that's where most of my riding background comes from. I think a track favors me when it's fast and rough.

YOU'LL HAVE JEREMIE WARNIA AS A TEAMMATE AT THIS ROUND. DOES THAT HELP?
It can help, but it can also be a distraction. We don't have any special team orders; Jeremie isn't going to block for me or anything like that. If the situation arises where we are battling at the end of the race for a position, then he's less likely to fight me for it, but that's all.

HOW'S YOUR QUAD WORKING?
Really good. We've made a few changes this year and it's working out well. The can-Am suits my style well because it's real spread out and stable at speed. I feel good about my chances this week end, but I'm in it for the points at the end of the season.
