(This story appears in our Feb '03 issue)
All Terrain Vehicle riding is something that we can all relate to and use to support our common belief in enjoying the great outdoors. We happen to think it is one of the best and most enjoyable ways you can get up close and see the vastness and beauty of this great nation of ours.
It can be as simple as the spiritual release you get when you see the morning sun rising over the ridge on an early morning trail ride. Or the sense of awe and wonder you feel as you see a glowing red sun set over a massive ocean of wind-swept dunes. By getting out and exploring nature we become one with it. ATV riders are action people. Most of us are not content to simply look at one dimensional photos in trendy coffee table books offered for sale by hypocritical enviro-extremists. Why should they be the only ones to enjoy the beauty of this wonderful country in three dimensions?
Here, then, are some images and words that may help convey to these poor troubled souls the truly spiritual part of our existence and possibly help them uncover the real reasons we love to ride.
"The world is moving so fast these days that the man who says it can’t be done is generally interrupted by someone doing it."—Elbert Hubbard
"Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go."—T.S. Eliot
"The happiest people seem to be those who have no particular
reason for being happy except that they are so."—William Inge
"Man cannot long survive without air, water, and sleep. Next in importance comes food. And close on its heels, solitude. "—Thomas Szasz
"Instant gratification is not soon enough."—Carrie Fisher
