1985 ATC250R vs  LT250R

1985 marked the peak of ATC racing, with multiple manufacturers competing for the top of the podium. Honda and Kawasaki were duking it out on and off the track – read about “Tire Wars” and more with this link.

1985 was also the same year that Suzuki introduced the LT250R, marking the beginning of the 2-stroke four-wheeled ATV racing era. The TRX250R was a year away, so the Dirt Wheels crew put together a shoot comparing the new four-wheeled Suzuki 2-stroke to the new generation three-wheeled 1985 ATC250R.

We recently stumbled across some of the photos, in slide form, that made that story, as well as a few that didn’t. The Tecate 3 and Tri-Z250 were featured in that same shootout.
