Round 1 of the World Off Road Championship Series (WORCS) started the new year off with high action wheel to wheel racing! This round was held in Taft, California from January 8-10. Competitors from all over the states came to compete. The track was everything but smooth, with big chop, hidden holes and brutal sections littered throughout the course.
The Pro SXS races on Saturday held impressive driving. Beau Baron ended up taking the Gold in his CST backed Polaris RZR after battling with Mickey Thomas who earned second and Mike Gardner rounding out the Podium in Third. Beau also won the new unlimited (turbo) SXS class at the first round.
On Sunday the Pro ATV class competed with last years Championship winner David Haagsma, who lead the first half of the race. After some technical issues David had to pit and Beau Baron took over the lead where he remained for the rest of the race. Haagsma took second place and Robbie Mitchel earned himself a third place finish.
