Capability, Comfort, Confidence
The Wolverine X4 is a popular and versatile machine, but consumers had a few requests for an improved two seat version and Yamaha listened. The 850 two-cylinder two seater is tough, compact, quiet, and affordable with a starting price of just $12,699.
Good Things Come in Small Packages
Upgrades began with increasing the engine from the previous 708cc to 847cc. Consumers made a lot of requests for a vehicle that could handle restricted trails and tight maneuvering. So the X2 chassis was transformed to be a narrower and shorter by about an inch in comparison to the previous Wolverine. The suspension has also been modified to 8.7″ up front and 8.9″ in the rear to help give stability to the narrower machine. Strides were taken to reduce noise, heat, and vibration making the X2 an extremely reputable hunting and utility vehicle.
Start Your Engines
When comparing the new X2 to the previous Yamaha 2 seater, the engine performs with %47 more torque, and %32 more horsepower. Add to that a tighter turning radius, smoother power, and better visibility for a vehicle that drivers can be fully confident driving, even on challenging terrain. However, if you factor in the new seats, full doors, and easily adjustable seats and steering wheel then it becomes obvious that comfort is key.
Work Hard, Play Hard
If you are looking for a workhorse then you will certainly find it in the X2. The easy dump cargo bed has increased in size and doubled its capacity to hold 600lbs while towing has been increased to a full 2,000lbs. All wheel engine breaking, a larger clutch, and a fully coated chassis ensure less wear and tear on your machine no matter what you put it through.
If you want to upgrade your base model, Yamaha has plenty to offer in terms of accessories. Four different Maxxis tire options are available to best suit your terrain needs. Wheels options are also available along with accessories like cab enclosures, skid plates, heater options, 2nd battery kits, guards, and more. R-spec models are available in Alpine White and Ridge Red at $14,499 while a Hunter edition in RealTree Edge camo is also available for $14,499. Special edition models in Tactical Black and Back Country Blue begin at $15,299.
