After 16 days of racing, the famed Dakar Rally is wrapped up
for 2023. This provided some amazingly close competition, and,
as always, some real heartbreak for some competitors. Every
Dakar Rally is a true motorized ultramarathon, but the 2023 was
a brute.

Storms made momentum difficult during several legs of Dakar.

There was almost double the mileage for 2023 when compared
to 2022, and freak and powerful rain storms required the
competitors to battle mud and flood waters in addition to the
normal endless dunes and rocks.

When Dakar was all over, American riders and drivers had fared
well. Red Bull youth team members AJ Jones and Seth Quintero
finished first and second in the T3 class in their Red Bull Can-
Am X3s. Pablo Copetti was third in the quad class, but leads the
Rally-Raid standings.
