ATV BEACH RACE WITH 350 ENTRIES
Known as the end of summer to the locals, Enduro Del Verano ATV BEACH RACE to us is one of the largest ATV races on the planet. In 2023 350 ATV pilots took to the seven mile sand course that winds its way through the Argentinian countryside, along the beach and in front of 100,000 spectators. We’ve had several U.S. riders make their way south to compete in EDV in the past, including Doug Gust and Joe Byrd. The most recent was Chad Wienen in 2019 and he won. We spoke to Chad to get his take on the event. Chad tells us “its one of the funnest event he has ever been too. The town we stayed in near the track Carilo was really unique, the streets were sand and you got a real old time feel down there.”
The vendor are is huge and caters to the 190,000 spectators. It’s a similar atmosphere as it is going to a Supercross, NASCAR or the Indy 500 race here in the states. As for bike set up Chad tells us, the rules are open so he ran 489cc stroker engine, taller gearing and of course taller grooved Maxxis tires. The ATV is closer to a WORCS set up than MX.

Racing on a track with 350 other riders is insane. Chad tells us you start lapping people on lap two. Everyone takes off at the same time, so if you are on the first couples rows, you have a chance for a cleaner run. The course is over 150 feet wide in some places so passing is not a huge issue. However some of the locals know the quicker ways around the track. “ Its definitely on my schedule to go back to in 2024” Chad said.
