CELEBRATING YAMAHA’S COMMITMENT: POWERING ACCESS TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS!

For the past 15 years, Yamaha OAI has been a trailblazer in the powersports industry, endorsing projects nationwide that champion safe and responsible access to public land for motorized and outdoor recreation. In an exciting development, Yamaha proudly announces its receipt of the esteemed 2023 Corporate Stewardship Award from the Public Lands Alliance, recognizing their outstanding commitment to preserving and enhancing access to public lands.

Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s motorsports marketing manager, expressed his enthusiasm for the recent quarter’s grant recipients, noting the focus on engaging children in outdoor activities. “Part of the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative’s mission is to inspire a love for outdoor recreation among all individuals,” Nessl remarked. “We are thrilled to have granted multiple applications that aim to get kids active and outdoors.” Yamaha’s receipt of the Corporate Stewardship Award further validates the success of the Outdoor Access Initiative in its tireless efforts to promote and defend access to public lands for motorized and outdoor recreation.

The Public Lands Alliance, an organization dedicated to advancing the efforts of nonprofit partners responsible for America’s public lands, has nominated Yamaha Motor Corp., USA for the Corporate Stewardship Award. This prestigious accolade celebrates companies that demonstrate exceptional achievement in enhancing the visitor experience in America’s public lands.

The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative continues to support the All Kids Bike program, which encourages students in public schools to explore the great outdoors and learn how to ride bicycles. Through a generous $100,000 OAI grant, elementary schools across the country will benefit, allowing thousands of kids to exercise and enjoy outdoor adventures on bikes. In addition, the California Outdoor Recreation Foundation will receive funding for its OHV safety and education experience at Hollister Hills SVR as part of the California State Parks Adventure Pass program for 4th-graders. The San Diego Off-Road Coalition, another OAI grant recipient, will utilize their grant to purchase rice hay bales, ensuring a safe riding experience for kids at the Corral Canyon OHV riding area on the Cleveland National Forest.

Yamaha awarded a total of 13 grants for Q1 2023, amounting to over $288,000 in funding. The deserving organizations include The Alliance for Florida’s National Parks, Natural Restorations (Arizona), California Outdoor Recreation Foundation, Pel-Cho Muddnutz ATV/UTV Club (Wisconsin), Colorado Motorcycle Trail Riders Associations, Post Wildfire OHV Recovery Alliance (California), Crested Butte Avalanche Center (Colorado), San Diego Off-Road Coalition, Day Mountain Road Association (Maine), Strider Education Foundation (National), East Branch Sno-Rovers & ATV (Maine), Western Trails Conservancy (Idaho), and Friends of the Flathead Avalanche Center (Montana).
