Employment Opportunity – Trails Specialist, State of North Dakota

Hiring Range $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Position is located in Northeast North Dakota with a significant amount of time spent at Pembina Gorge State Recreation Area.

This position provides professional assistance in the management and operations of state trails, state parks, state recreation areas, and related outdoor recreation and natural resources management programs. The incumbent in this position will provide work direction to staff, contractors, and volunteers. Performs trail assessments, assists in overseeing volunteer programs, assists in conducting training programs (trail maintenance, OHV safety, snowmobile safety, etc.), researches and administers recreation opportunities, actively participates in trail and park services on a daily basis as required by the site Park Manager. Consults on trail related projects; conducts or oversees contractors or volunteers in the undertaking of needed repairs and maintenance of trails and related infrastructure; maintains a daily work log as well as prepares reports of in-progress projects. Provides support for special events and programs as needed, coordinates special projects as assigned. Work with staff to develop and promote unique experiences and places within the North Dakota State Parks system. It is supervised by the Recreation Division Lead.
