NEW MODELS: 2023 CAN-AM ATV’s

For the 2023 model year, the family of Can-Am ATVs will receive minor improvements, along with the addition of three new youth models. A new youth Renegade line consisting of a pint-sized Sport 70, a slightly larger 110 and a race-inspired X xc 110, all with electronic fuel injection. This trio will replace the DS 70, DS 90 and DS 90X. However, the DS 250 will remain in the lineup with no changes.

The larger 4WD Renegades and some Outlanders receive improvements in the looks and control departments. New LED headlights grace these larger machines, and most of them have Can-Am’s new intelligent engine braking (iEB). So, now you will have the ability to adjust power steering assist, toggle through power modes and set the engine braking parameters all on the handlebars. A few adult models have not returned for 2023, including the Outlander 650, Renegade 800 or 500.

Both Outlander 450s and 570s share the same chassis. The platform starts at $6699 for the base model. Dynamic EPS adds $1000, while taller tires, aluminum wheels, camo, a winch, heated grips, skid plates and handguards will add another $1800.

Can-Am will offer a half dozen more versions using the 38-horsepower, single-cylinder 450 or 48-horsepower 570cc V-twin. You can choose rigs for mud, a passenger or even a two-rider six-wheeler. Prices for those range from $7899 all the way up to $10,099.

The larger Outlander chassis gets you a bit more travel from A-arms up front and a full inch more in the rear trailing-arm suspension. One-inch-taller tires translate into a 1/2 inch more ground clearance on the 650, 850 and 1000 over the 450/570 chassis.

The 650–1000 platform has eight single-seat versions and six 2-up-configured Outlanders to choose from. Two of those machines are six-wheeled; one is a 650 ($15,099), and the big daddy comes with a 1000cc, V-twin and all the needed accessories at $17,500. The Outlander 850/1000R get new LED headlights and updated front fascia.

If mud riding is your thing, you can choose between a 850cc X mr at $13,699 or the 1000R X mr at $15,499. Both come with a 3500-pound winch, relocated radiator, bumpers, extra grab-handles, snorkels, and 30-inch ITP Cryptid tires. The 1000 model has a lower “low” gear.

For 2023, the Renegade will come at you with four new LED headlights, new front fascia and a bumper. The radiator grill is now removable for easy cleaning. Like the Outlander, you can get the X mr with a 650cc engine or the 1000. The 650 doesn’t come with a winch or the 30-inch-tall tires like the 1000.

In the full-sized Renegade line, you can choose the powerplant and accessories to cut your budget starting at $10,599 for the base 650 V-twin with 62 horsepower. The X xc comes with a 91-horsepower 976cc V-twin, and the mud version is available with either power package.

The smallest Renegade is the newest in the Can-Am ATV line. This 70 replaces the DS 70. It shares a chassis with the larger 110, however with smaller tires and floorboard extensions. Both models are fuel injected, have a throttle limiter, chain drive and are two-wheel drive. Single A-arms up front with 5 inches of travel and a swingarm in the rear offer 6 inches of travel.

Replacing the DS 90X is the all-new Renegade X xc 110 EFI. Unfortunately, the machine is only 2WD and not 4WD like it looks. It has a very similar footprint to a Raptor 250. This machine has dual A-arms up front with 5.5 inches of travel and a swingarm out back with 6 inches of travel. It sits on 19-inch-tall tires in the front and 18s out back. We don’t expect the air-cooled engine to be very fast, having to push a 310-pound machine around, but there is a throttle limiter that parents can adjust in case. Like all other Renegades, the youth models have automatic CVT transmissions, so they are easy to ride.
