The Baja 1000 has been called the Toughest Off Road race on the continent and this year was no different. Running from the city of Ensenada 1047 miles south to the Town of LaPaz it became a mission for Richie Brown. Planning to run this race took many people and over two months of prerace decisions. The race was fairly uneventful. “There were two flat tires and a small run in with a Buggy,” claims Brown.
Richie had the support of his close fiends Kerry Harkins and Brent Tower, both from Georgia. With one chase truck and his goal of just finishing the race Brown made history in the 39th annual event. Brown is also the first ATV rider to ever in the history of this series solo the entire race on an ATV. For his efforts Richie takes home the first in a series of trophies that Sal Fish has created called the “Iron Rider” award.
Brown would like to thank all of the superior product sponsors who made his mission possible. “I couldn’t have finished without the dependability of my Honda 450r and other quality products,” says Brown.
