Polaris Recalls Some Model Year 2020-2023 Sportsman 1000 S And Scrambler 1000 S ATVs
Polaris has determined that, if fuel spills while refueling on some Model Year 2020-2023 Sportsman 1000 S and Scrambler 1000 S ATVs, fuel can ignite by electrostatic discharge outside the fuel tank, posing a fire hazard and risk of serious injury.
Number of affected vehicles: approximately 10,660 units globally
Number of incidents: Polaris has identified 16 reports of fire result of this concern, including one report of personal injury and one report of property damage.
Consumers should immediately stop using the impacted units. Polaris will issue repair instructions to dealers and will have the repair parts available by the end of January. Polaris will notify dealers once parts are available and will contact customers so they can reach out to their Polaris-authorized dealer to determine next steps and schedule a free repair. DO NOT attempt any repairs yourself.
