QA PARTS UTV SIDE-VIEW MIRRORS
Having mirrors on a UTV is all but essential, but do you need to go for the maximum bling? To find out, we tried QA Parts UTV side mirrors.

WHAT IT IS
Manufactured using a polypropylene plastic shell with a glass lens, and ABS plastic clamps makes for a tough, clear view of what’s happening behind you. The convex design offers a wide-angle view of what’s going on behind you. Two clamp sizes (1.75 and 2 inches) make these suitable for most UTV roll cages on the market today. A ball-socket joint makes finding the perfect angle a breeze.

OUR TAKE
Having a set of rear-view mirrors on your UTV is not just convenient, it’s a whole lot safer. Not backing over the edge of that switchback turn or knowing that someone is coming up behind you can save the day. These aren’t the biggest mirrors on the market, but they’re definitely enough for a good rearward view. The convex design expands your field of view, although things are stretched due to the angle. Hence the warning on the passenger mirror on your truck: “Objects in mirror are closer than they appear.”
This is one of the reasons the small stature of these mirrors works so well. The 1.75-inch clamp, along with the included rubber non-slip sleeve, clamped securely to our KRX 1000 roll cage. Due to the body design with high rear fenders, we ended up mounting the mirrors on the upper portion of the A-pillar.
The ball-socket joint offered plenty of range for our chosen location. The only issue with the ball socket is making sure it’s tight enough that it doesn’t move when you smack a bush or tree branch. Too tight and you risk the mirror breaking. In the event you do break one (they are plastic, and plastic does break), the $19.99 price for the set makes it a lot easier to pony up for a replacement.

BOTTOM LINE
If you’re not someone that has to have the latest and greatest mirrors on the market today, we recommend the QA Parts mirrors. They do exactly what a rear-view mirror is supposed to do—allow you to safely back up and see what’s happening behind you. With the crazy prices of UTV parts today, this is one product that lets you put fuel in the tank instead of using your money for pricey bling. We got ours from www.rockymountainatvmc.com.
