TUFF TRAILGEAR JACKDADDY
Testing an easy way to lift your UTV up to change a tire

TUFF TRAILGEAR JACKDADDY
We are lucky enough to get to test some of the best new products in this industry as well as some that are not so promising. Fortunately for Tuff Trail Gear, we absolutely love the JackDaddy. The company created a very lightweight UTV jack that is simple to use, fast and can be easily mounted to your Polaris or Can-Am sport machine.
We have tried carrying heavy jacks, automotive-style jacks and more on our UTVs, and we never had a system that was so simple to use. The whole kit of an aluminum JackDaddy for our Polaris RZR XP 4 1000 Ride Command sells for $349.

THE JACKDADDY
When you receive the full-aluminum JackDaddy kit, you get the jack, 10- and 20-inch extension shafts, two billet aluminum roll bar mounts (they fit 1- to 2-inch bar diameters), a safety lock, and the brackets and nubs that you connect the jack to.
Installation of the nubs is simple. Raise your vehicle with a floor jack up front. Replace the bottom shock-mount bolts on the A-arms with the nubs in the kit. We found it easiest to align the nubs for connecting the jack to them in the future, by connecting the jack and tightening the screws with the jack facing down towards the ground.

The rear mounts connect to the lower shock bolt on the trailing arms. The included brackets are to be connected on the inside of the trailing arm, facing the engine. Using a floor jack to lift the rear up and remove the tension on the suspension will assist with the process.
FAR TOO USEFUL
The JackDaddy stores neatly on our machine with the use of their roll cage mounts. If you get a flat tire, need to swap out an axle or even change out other suspension parts that aren’t vital to the jack’s usage, the JackDaddy is very easy to use. Simply take the jack off the cage mount and install the proper extension shaft needed with the jack’s foot.

Then you can connect the jack to the needed nub and pin it to it so it cannot be released. Next, extend the shaft to where it will lift the wheel off the ground with enough room to install an aired-up tire on the machine. Set the jack down on the ground, which will be close to a 45-degree angle. While in 4×4 or all-wheel drive, slowly drive forward or reward with your left foot ready on the brake. The JackDaddy foot will dig into the ground and start to prop your machine up.
The desired wheel will be in the air when you feel the jack lock in place. Put your machine in park and turn it off. There is a handy safety lock that comes in the kit. If you slip it onto the top of the jack, it stops the JackDaddy from rotating back to its straightened position and dropping the machine back on all four corners. Now it is safe to make the needed repairs out on the trail.

TOP PRODUCT
When we first saw the Tuff Trail Gear’s JackDaddy, we knew it would be useful. Installation and usage is very simple and straightforward. The product is well-made, and very durable. You can purchase it for a Can-Am Maverick X3 or a Polaris RZR XP 1000/Turbo. There is a less expensive and heavier steel version of the jack that only works with the RZR platform at a cost of $199.99 with mounts included. The jack mounts go for $99.99 alone.
Hands down, this is one of our favorite products that we have used in 2018 and give it two thumbs up! The company is making mounting points that work on certain aftermarket suspension kits as well. Go to www.tufftrailgear.com or call (801) 634-4321 to order your own JackDaddy!
