BEAU JUDGE’S WORCS MAVERICK X3
Beau Judge won six 2023 WORCS Pro Production Turbo rounds on his way to the turbo title, and he won the first two rounds of 2024 in the new No Limit Maverick X3 X rs Turbo RR.

Beau Judge has been Phil Blurton’s navigator in Best in the Desert and SCORE races for many years, and Beau stepped his race program up several notches for the 2021 and 2022 World Off-Road Championship Series Pro Production Turbo races. Judge and his No Limit (NL) Race Development X3 scored six wins and the 2021 WORCS Pro Production Turbo Championship, then he repeated as Pro Production champion in 2022 and 2023. He raced the same Maverick X3 X rs Turbo RR for almost three years and finished this new build in September of 2023, handing his old X3 down to son, Braden, for a father-son duo in WORCS Pro Production Turbo. Beau has raced the build in five WORCS races and won all five, and he and Braden finished 1-2 in points for 2023.

NO LIMIT RACE DEVELOPMENT & MANUFACTURING

No Limit Race Development and Manufacturing, Blurton’s race shop, specializes in short-course, desert-course and pre-runner UTV builds, and Judge’s X3 got the short-course treatment with X3 chassis upgrades for strength, a No Limit roll cage with roof and custom interior, frame braces and doors, front push-bar bumper and shock tower brace, a NL/CBR radiator relocate kit, 72-inch full-suspension upgrade with high-clearance arms, trailing-arm roost flaps, huge NL aluminum tie-rods and radius rods, nerf bars, rear bumper, bed delete, and airbox and intercooler mounts. The kit also includes an HMF exhaust, Sparco Evo race seat and a five-point harness.

No Limit’s two-seat X3 race cage is $3000 with intrusion bars, braces, roof and number plates, and No Limit also has a X3 Sport cage for $2000. Upper and lower high-clearance A-arms are $2000, and they’re built with DOM 0.120-inch tubing with Uniballs and custom spindle pins. NL’s suspension gusset kit adds more strength for another $500. No Limit’s trailing-arm gusset kit starts at $475, with another $250 for mud flaps and an extended bolt kit for another $175. No Limit’s X3 HD tie-rod kit is $435 or $520 with FK heim joints. Blurton also has the X3 radius rod kit with a double-shear rod plate ($100) and six aircraft-aluminum radius rods for $750 with FK heims.

Beau’s son, Braden, now races the three-time WORCS Championship #2 X3, and he scored five 2023 Pro Production Turbo podiums, including three straight seconds in the last three rounds.

FACTORY, ELKA AND ZRP UPGRADES

Judge was a Fox Factory athlete in 2021, and his factory RC2 Podium shocks were tuned by George White at E2R. He started the 2022 season at Primm with RC2, but switched to Elka Stage 5 2.5 fronts ($2500) and 3.0 rears ($3500). Doug Roll now tunes Beau’s Elkas, and he runs E2R’s rear torsion bar with the links in the second-to-softest setting. Beau also upgrades the X3 drivetrain with a Sandcraft combo drive-shaft kit, and front and rear Zollinger Racing Products aluminum knuckles. ZRP’s 7075 knuckles are double-shear and have capped bearings, and 7075 is said to be three times stronger than 6061. The front knuckles are $2999 and only work with 7/8-inch Uniballs or rod ends. ZRP’s rear knuckles are rated to 72,000 pounds of force and have Teflon-lined spherical bearings for $1999.

No Limit Race Development did the entire build, including the radiator relocator with a CBR radiator and two SBL brushless variable-speed fans, and Doug Roll tuned the Elka Stage 5 shocks.

Beau’s engine has an Evo Stage 3 tune and Torrent-F intake plenum, along with a ZRP billet fuel rail and HMF Racing exhaust. Judge runs the stock CVT and belt, and has no over-heating issues at hotter races.

Beau runs the stock Can-Am axles, front sway bar, wheel bearings, brakes and steering rack, but he upgrades to a ZRP billet fuel rail, and radiator hoses and fittings. Turbo charge tubes and silicone hoses are by Evo as well. He also runs the X3 Smart-Lok front diff, and the stock CVT clutches and belt. Quick-release CVT-cover pins provide fast belt changes with a Hostyle clutch tool bag. He also runs Hostyle nets and a custom Factory UTV HMW full skid plate with side extensions that are grooved down to 1/8-inch thickness. He races with BF Goodrich KR2 30×9.5R15 LT tires on Vision Wheels beadlock rims.

The X3 intercooler is mounted to tilt up and get more airflow than the stock position, and the OEM vortex intake and Donaldson-style airbox are retained. The No Limit RD mounts are works of art.

A Sea-Doo 15-gallon fuel cell extends gas range, and the X3 EFI fuel pump drops right in. Beau uses PCI Radios comms and a Race Air pumper, but he doesn’t use a steering quickener.

Also for durability, Beau runs an Evolution Powersports Torrent-F intake plenum ($1,315). Being a factory Can-Am pilot, he runs a Sea-Doo 15-gallon fuel cell, which lowers center of gravity and centralizes mass over the OEM 10.5-gallon fuel cell. The stock X3 EFI fuel pump drops right in the Sea-Doo cell, and his X3 gets the Can-Am Factory Race Department ECU tune. Beau uses PCI Race Radios fresh-air pumper and radios, and his build gets Superior powdercoating, a Union Graphics wrap and XPS lubricants. He tears the X3 down and rebuilds it for every race.
