PROJECT UTV: Trinity Racing RZR 570

To our surprise, when Polaris introduced the RZR 570 in 2011, it was actually more fun than the original RZR 800. Chassis and body refinements, along with an all-new DOHC, fourvalve, single-cylinder engine and better clutching, made it a blast to drive. Furthermore, the machine was priced incredibly low at $9999. Since that time, the price has only jumped $300, making this machine still one of the best values you can find. With all the money you can save buying a RZR 570, there’s no better use of those funds than doing a…

ITP DOMINATES DESERT OPENER

Justin Lambert (Cognito Motorsports / Polaris) was the top finishing side-by-side and won the UTV Pro Production class at the BITD Parker 250. The next three vehicles to reach the BITD finish line were all running ITP UltraCross R Spec tires in the UTV Turbo Production class, giving ITP a clean sweep and the top four overall finishers at the opening round. "Our racers continue to prove the made-in-the-USA ITP UltraCross R Spec tire is the choice for serious desert racing and recreation. Not only did we win…

PROJECT UTV: Rox Speed FX Ace 570 Racer

The Polaris Ace 570 started a new UTV revolution—or at least we hope it will kick-start a new chapter in the industry for single-seater machines. After the rise and fall of the Honda Odyssey and Pilot, some skeptics thought that a single-seat UTV platform would not rise from the ashes. However, the introduction of the Polaris Ace has proven that the genre has returned better than ever, and aftermarket companies have jumped into manufacturing performance parts for the Polaris. One of those companies is Rox Speed FX, who…

PRODUCT TEST: S&B Particle Separator

No one likes to constantly replace or clean a reusable air filter after every other big ride. Especially when it comes to riding in the sand or desert, changing filters is a constant need. S&B Filters designed a new air-filtration system called a Particle Separator, with technology derived from military helicopters. To put it simply, this $399 system sucks in dust and pushes it back out, allowing clean air to reach your air filter. HOW IT WORKS S&B’s patent-pending design that is currently for the Polaris RZR…

INSIDER INFO ON INTENSE RZR RACING

As you wait at the starting line, planning out the best line to take into the first turn, the nervous rise and fall of engine rpm can be heard around you. Sitting on either side is a group of Polaris RZR XP 1000 UTVs with fellow competitors in their pilot seats. Camera crews are aiming their lenses on the pack while their film feed fills TV screens around the world. Right before the race begins, a final thought occurs to you: my competitors are piloting the exact same machine, and not one RZR has an advantage over mine; it’s…

The first races of the Terracross season for 2015 were action packed with great wheel to wheel competition. The first men's pro final had Mickey Thomas landing himself in first place. The race started with 16 racers and ended with seven. Cole Cottew finished in second place and Jason Luburgh. Sarah Price and Shelby Anderson took the…

2015 High Lifter Quadna Mud Nationals!

The 2015 Quadna Mud Nationals was a blast! Putting aside the mud bog racing, an obstacle course race, sled pulls, kids foot race up Quadna Mtn and more was involved in the family fun event. High Lifter puts on great race and entertainment for everyone. There was a live band in the evenings, food, and a vendor row to check out in between the races. Over 5000 people showed up with their ATVs and UTVs to play in the mud and on the trails around Quadna Mtn. You don't have to have anything but your normal machines to go have a…

2015 King of the Hammers: Insane UTV Racing

King of the Hammers, presented by Polaris RZR, is considered to be one of the most difficult off-road racing events in the world. The terrain changes constantly—from flat highspeed lake beds to crawling up and down hills filled with giant boulders and rock faces that require the use of a winch and a navigator willing to climb in and out of the UTV to traverse. It doesn’t just take a well-built machine to race KOH; preparation and planning are key. Only five of over 50 UTVs completed this year’s race, and Mitch Guthrie once…
