WHERE TO RIDE: THE BEST PLACES TO RIDE IN TENNESSEE

Live your own country music song By the staff of Dirt Wheels Tennessee offers some of the best and most famous ATV riding in the U.S. The wooded and technical riding environment has motivated the formation of three great ATV and UTV riding areas in one general area. By road, the parks look like a horseshoe on a Tennessee map, with Brimstone and Ride Royal Blue close together. Windrock Park is the farthest south and about the same distance from the other two parks. As the crow flies, they lie closer together than by…

DESTINATION: UTAH OFF-ROAD RENTALS & GUIDED TOURS

Great cars, guides and amazing trails By the staff of Dirt Wheels Utah has everything from stark salt flats to lush forests and mountain meadows, but when off-roaders think of the state, most mentally see red rock vistas. Areas like Zion, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley and Moab have burned this impression on our minds. But after riding with Utah Off-Road Rentals and Guided Tours, we found that red slick rock is sweet, but Utah has more to offer off-roaders. Utah Off-Road is based out of La Verkin, Utah, not far from…

PLAYING IN THE SAND AT LITTLE SAHARA

-- UTV TAKEOVER INVADES OKLAHOMA -- It was tons of fun for everyone when the UTV Takeover event came to Little Sahara State Park in Waynoka, Oklahoma back in September of this year. Cara Miller was nice enough to send us some good photos of the action. From the looks of things it seems like a good time was had by all.  Kevin Morris and his RZR put in some quick laps around the Short Course Competition. Tyler Hill put on a good show in the Wheelie Competition. Rusian Yankilevich catches some big air in the Jumping…

WHERE TO RIDE GUIDE:

-- TALMA'S TRAIL PARK IN SOUTH DAKOTA -- By the staff of Dirt Wheels The vast Missouri River is born just west of Bozeman, Montana, where the Gallatin, Jefferson, and Madison rivers converge at Three Forks. It traverses more than 2300 miles, becoming America’s longest river before dumping into the Mississippi at St. Louis. Closer to the beginning, after crossing Montana and North and South Dakota, the Missouri serves as a boundary and border between Nebraska and South Dakota. Nebraska has plenty of open land, but…

RIDING ACROSS WILD CANYON

-- A wild ride for sure -- There are certain things that make a place one of your favorite places to ride. Something to give the riding experience a bit of a unique feeling. Perhaps an unusually beautiful view or maybe a section of trail that raises your heartbeat into the turbo zone. Having to connect the trails by riding across a bridge like this would certainly give you a rush. It's not unusual to come to make-shift bridges on a trail to help you get across a deep creek or a big ditch. However, this one here…

WHERE TO RIDE: SAND HOLLOW STATE PARK

-- Off-road wonderland in Hurricane, Utah -- By the staff of Dirt Wheels Many of us live in states that seem driven to limit or even fully eliminate off-road recreation. In light of that, it is satisfying and rewarding to visit Utah and experience a state park teamed with BLM land like Sand Hollow. Sand Hollow is not far from the state’s southern and western borders and likewise relatively close to Zion National Park. You’ll find the typical yet spectacular southern Utah red rock inside the park, as well as be…

RIDING IN PENNSYLVANIA & MICHIGAN

-- Where to ride guide -- One of the main things that determines the level of satisfaction of a ride is based on where it takes place. Finding great trails in scenic areas is key. To learn about top rated riding areas we rely on word of mouth from other riders who've been there. In this case we're letting Dirt Wheels reader Brad Mengel in Pennsylvania report on his favorite areas. He regularly rides at Reading Famous Outdoors in the coal regions of Pennsylvania. He says you can get permits to ride on the non-active…

ATV FRIENDLY TOWNS INVITE YOU TO COME RIDING

-- WHERE TO RIDE GUIDE -- The Androscoggin Valley Chamber of Commerce invited the Dirt Wheels crew to come ride their trails in Northern New Hampshire and they asked us to bring along everyone who owns a quad or UTV. Hey, those people get the highest rating in our book. We love to ride in areas where the local towns welcome us with open arms. That's where we prefer to spend our money and time. The word we get from riders in the New England area is that Androscoggin Valley in Northern New Hampshire is ATV…
