THREE WHEELS OF FURY: THE CR500 TRIKE BUILD

Check out this sand slinger built by Ray Wenzel of Oceanside, CA. Of everything we saw at the Sand Sports Super Show last weekend, this machine had us drooling the most. Ray actually built this three wheeler some time ago, beginning with a Honda CR500 dirt bike.  It sports an extended Laeger’s swingarm, custom airbox and sub-frame, FMF exhaust system, modified suspension suited for three wheels, and lightweight 12-paddle sand tires. Ray also had a faux “ATC500” manufacturer plate made to complete the build. Ray has several custom 3- and 4-wheeled machines that he claims are just as tight as this one, so we look forward to paying him a visit at his shop soon for more build stories – stay tuned!
