MULE 4010 CHARGING ISSUES
A DIRT WHEELS FAN WRITES: We have a 2023 Kawasaki 4010 Mule. We have added a large number of light bars for night work. The problem we are having is we are discharging the machine’s battery. Our dealer suggested installing a second battery. This solution solved our problem for part of the night but, since the machine’s alternator can’t keep the stock battery charged, the second battery discharges too. At least with the battery isolator, the machine won’t leave us stranded with a no-start dead primary battery. Do you know if there is a higher output alternator that we could retrofit for more output?

OUR PRO ANSWER: Son, I am disappointed that your selling dealer could not have made you aware of the Kawasaki factory high output alternator kit for your Zooter. As long as you are not using the Diesel Zooter model, the #99999-0283, 50 Amp alternator, will increase the alternator output from 15 Amp to 65 Amp!
