For this month’s tire guide, we are highlighting a handful of tires that are designed to give you the most traction and flotation on the sand. Keep in mind, the more aggressive the paddle you use on the rear tire, the worse your machine will turn under acceleration, no matter what you are using up front. Remember, with a straight paddle, straight you will go. A V-shaped paddle turns a bit better, and an alternating or connecting shorter paddle allows the machine to turn the best. Only you will know what kind of paddle is best for what you want to accomplish—straight-line speed or bowl carving.  Also, remember this: your stock set of tires will work fine in the dunes aired down to about 10 psi. Doing this will allow you to get familiar to what type of sand travel excites you before you invest big money into a complete set of sand tires.
