LOWE’S AXIS 750 CREW DEAD

A DIRT WHEELS FAN WRITES: “In 2023, I purchased an Axis 750 Crew 4X4 from my local Lowe’s. I know they have no idea about any service, and I accepted that because it is really a Hisun and a copy of the old Yamaha Rhino at that. So, parts sourcing should not be a problem. The problem that I have is on a recent ride in the back country, the machine just quit, no power anywhere. I field tested the battery but a VOM meter showed it was charged. All relevant battery cables were tight with no corrosion. Next, I checked all my fuses, and they appeared in good condition. So, I got someone to tow me out to my truck. The local independent repair shop is stumped as to what is wrong. Can you please provide some guidance to my repair shop?” – Val Osborn, Hurricane, UT

OUR PRO ANSWER: Did Matt pull you out? He enjoys pulling out the “golf carts” from the back country! Seriously, there is only one thing I can think of that would cause a total failure of all electrical systems on your Axis assuming the battery isn’t internally direct shorted or disconnected, and that is the 5-amp yellow fuse that controls the dashboard ECU switch. Replace it with the spare located inside the fuse box (fuse box is located on the firewall under the hood) and your problem may be solved instantly. Now the question is, why did it fail in the first place? Might have been a transient load surge, or a weak fuse. Or there is something more major lurking inside your electrical system. I would just replace the fuse, obtain a box of replacements, and see what happens in the future. Maybe something or maybe nothing will happen. Hope for nothing!
