Missed the muddy fun? Check out what happens at High Lifter Mud Nationals!
One thing we can say about High Lifter’s events is, they aren’t void of fun! This year’s Jacksonville, Texas based Mud Nationals held great activities and competitions that the whole family could enjoy, and awesome riding for those who enjoy sinking their toys into mucky mud holes.
EVENTS
Day one started off with the JPS Bad 2 Da’ Bone show-and-shine competition. Contestants showed off their radically modified mud runners. These are often eye-catching, lifted monsters with giant wheels that help claw through deep mud bogs. Near the end of each day lucky attendees could spin the prize wheel to win cool prizes from companies like High Lifter and Warn.
Day two brought some dirty fun with the Endurance Challenge, where teams of riders had to fight through almost three miles of a mud bog. To be an official “finish,” each team had to cross the finish line with at least one running machine with both teammates on it! To end the day, the super-popular Arctic Cat poker run brought a lot of fun to participants of the Mud Nats.
Day three continued the fun and entertainment with an Audio Formz Mud Jam competition, where contestants pitted their best sound systems against each other for a prize of $500! After that the main mud event, the Arctic Cat Mudda-Cross, sent riders through multiple laps around High Lifter’s deep and technical mud course. The winner of each round continued on to compete in the final rounds. High-horsepower ATVs and UTVs tore up the pits with hundreds of people cheering them on. To end the day, a concert was held on the Polaris RZR stage for anyone to enjoy.
Day four concluded the great events of the 2016 High Lifter Mud Nationals with a UTV short-course MX race. The high-speed action of machines sliding sideways through turns, rubbing tires and rocketing through the air was a great sight to see. Another concert concluded that Saturday evening.
Finally, day five wrapped up the event with open riding all day, while campers and trailers with big and small machines exited the Mud Creek Off-Road Park in Jacksonville, Texas.
