WHERE TO RIDE: Guide to Summer/Fall ATV Jamborees

Warm weather is upon us now, and it’s time to pull out the toys and prepare them for some great riding. As ATV adventurers and fanatics, we are always on the lookout for fun events to attend. In this year’s “Summer/Fall Ride Guide,” everything from sand dunes to forest-riding jamborees are on the list. Pack up your friends and family and attend any one of these great events. All the info you need is in this “Ride Guide” to have a great time this summer and fall.

1: JULY 20–25
HIGH MOUNTAIN ATV JAMBOREE
Wallace, Idaho
The 21st annual High Mountain ATV Jamboree is an event you don’t want to miss. Monday through Friday there are hosted trail rides that are
set up for different difficulty levels so everyone can have fun. The jamboree features a cartoon-themed parade on Wednesday, a potluck BBQ on Friday night and even an ATV rodeo. The rodeo features drag racing, barrel racing, an obstacle course and a sled pull event. There will be a drawing held for people who purchased tickets that gives away great prizes. If you want to have fun for the whole family and ride scenic trails in between all of the great events, the High Mountain ATV Jamboree has you covered.

2: JULY 29–AUGUST 2
DUNE FEST
Winchester Bay, Oregon
Whether you are a dedicated sand-riding enthusiast or want to try out a new type of terrain, Dune Fest has it all. There is riding fun for the whole family with sand drags, poker runs, Grand Prix-style racing at the MX Motosports Park, and even barrel racing. Dune Fest holds a treasure hunt that is a blast to participate in. A show & shine competition is one of their biggest attractions at the event and anyone can join. Vendors will have OEM demo rides available for anyone wanting to try out 2016 models. The freestyle riders will be flying high and performing radical tricks at Dune Fest this year, and even a live band will be performing Saturday evening. Pack up your toys and head out to Dune Fest for a great vacation.

JERICHO ATV FESTIVAL
Berlin, New Hampshire
The sixth annual Jericho ATV Festival has all the enjoyment and entertainment needed to have a great vacation. The riding alone is packed with poker runs, sled pulls, vendor demo rides, mud-pit grudge runs and more. Freestyle shows, live bands and a torch-lit ATV parade provide even more entertainment. All the streets of Berlin are open to riding your toys on to get around, and food vendors are all over the place. Don’t miss out on their downtown block-party ATV ride Friday night and an outdoor concert. This three-day event will be one for the books.

PAIUTE TRAIL JAMBOREE
Marysvale, Utah
This is the 2015 seventh annual Paiute Trail Jamboree, and it’s packed with a ton of fun things to do for the whole family. The weather and scenery will be great, with Marysvale in full summer bloom. This jamboree has daily guided and non-guided rides that take you up into the mountains for great scenic views of valleys and peaks. Riding events like a poker run and drag racing are on the schedule. On Friday you can sign up
for mud races, their blind-man obstacle and ride the King of the Hill track. After participating in the mud-pit belly-flop contest, get cleaned up and check out their show & shine contest. Entertainment and food are provided for the whole event as well.

HELEN ORV JAMBOREE
St. Helen, Michigan
The seventh annual St. Helen ORV Jamboree with feature a lot of riding fun. They have a mud bog, sand runs and a sled pull. They have a kids’ mud bog and a Run in the Mud event for fun. ATV scenic and GPS rides are available throughout the jamboree at your leisure. Don’t miss out on the vendor displays, scenic rides and their silent auction. MANTI MOUNTAIN ATV RUN
Manti City, Utah
Start the fun off with guided ATV rides that take you 10,000 feet above sea level into the scenic mountains and vistas above the Sanpete Valley. The Arapeen OHV Trail System has trails tailored for the whole family to enjoy, and you can explore them on your own as well. There is plenty of lodging around the area if camping is not your style. BRYCE ATV/UTV RALLY
Panguitch, Utah
The annual Bryce Rally is a great event held in the great weather of Panguitch, Utah. The rally contains three days of great riding at the scenic Bryce Canyon Country. The trails lead up into the mountains and are a blast to ride. Included in your registration is three breakfasts, one dinner and a T-shirt. Vendor booths will be set up to check out, and there is a giant raffle for all participants. Night rides are available, and don’t miss out on their ATV rodeo, parade and poker run. There is fun and riding for the whole family to enjoy.

Directions: From the south in Cedar City, take route 14 East to the east side of Hwy 89. Head north past the entrance to Bryce Canyon, then onto Panguitch.

8: SEPTEMBER 4-6
FARM FEST
Andover, New York
Andover has some of the best trail riding in the state. Trail riding at this festival is available from 9 a.m. to dusk, and after you are done riding, there is a lot of entertainment to look forward to. Barrel racing, mud-bog racing and Hyde racing are just a few of the fun events. There will be a dice-run/fun run for prizes, along with games and live music. You can even join in on the foot race through their big mud hole for prizes. Pack up your ATVs, UTVs and family, and take them to Farm Fest for a great adventure, but you will have to leave your three-wheelers at home.
Cost: $20 per day for riding. $10 per passenger. $5 per day to camp

9: SEPTEMBER 8-12 AZ
OUTLAW TRAIL JAMBOREE
Eager/Springerville, Arizona
Starting the event off is their pizza and ice cream social, where you get to meet fellow participants and sign up for the great activities at the AZ Outlaw Trail Jamboree. The terrain starts in the low elevation of sand washes up to the scenic mountain trails. There are 26 of the states’ best ATV trails to tackle, and along with poker runs and rodeos, there is a planned night ride to enjoy. A raffle, parade and a Wild West shootout is also on the schedule of fun for the trip. There are events planned for the whole family to enjoy.
Cost: $100–$150, $15 extra to camp per night
Directions: Take Highway 60 to Globe, continuing on 60 into Springerville. At the traffic light in Springerville, turn right and go into Eagar. At the traffic light in Eagar, turn left and drive about 2 miles to the Apache County Rodeo Grounds on your left.

SAN JUAN ATV SAFARI
Monticello, Utah
If you want a breathtaking trail excursion in one of Utah’s most scenic mountain ranges, the San Juan ATV Safari should be on your vacation calendar. The three-day event hosts all-day trail rides that start in the Canyonlands and take you up into the beautiful Blue Mountains of San Juan. At the end of the event, entertainment and a banquet are held to summarize a great riding trip. If you need to rent an ATV to join in on the fun, Blackhawk ATV rentals will have you covered. CAMP RZR EAST
Brimstone, Tennessee
Camp RZR East is a fast-growing event at Brimstone. Polaris puts on the event to give back to the UTV community. It is a two-day event with live entertainment, free food and more. You can sign up for demo rides to
test out their newest machines and even take your machine out into the Brimstone Trail System. Polaris puts on a RZR 170 race and offers prize giveaways. Bring along your friends and family and have a great time at Camp RZR East.

12: SEPTEMBER 21-15
ROCKY MOUNTAIN ATV JAMBOREE
Richfield, Utah
The 23rd year of the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree is coming, and it’s not one to miss. The riding options for all skill levels go through the Paiute and Gooseberry trail systems of central Utah. They have an ATV rodeo and drag races, along with guided rides. There will be a parade down Main Street for the whole family to enjoy. Registration for the event provides two dinners on the park, continental breakfasts, and a chance to win one of many great prizes, including a brand-new Arctic Cat ATV. There are great lodging options available all throughout town.
Cost: $100 per driver or rider
Directions: Richfield is 3 hours south of Salt Lake City and 4 hours north Las Vegas. It is easiest to use Interstate 15 through Utah and then just follow the signs to Richfield via Interstate 70.

HISTORIC ATV COLOR TOUR
Buena Vista, Colorado
During fall, the colors of nature in Colorado are an amazing sight to see. The views from the trails of the 14,000-foot mountains are unbeatable. There are trails for all skill levels, from smooth rides to extreme terrain. There will be live entertainment, demonstrations and night rides to enjoy. Registration fees provide four breakfast, an event T-shirt and a nighttime BBQ party. Pack up and head to Colorado for the Historic ATV Color Tour and enjoy great riding and great times with family and friends.

MUD-TOBERFEST
Jacksonville, Texas
If you love to play in the mud, then look no further for a great vacation than Mud-Toberfest. There are a lot of great events to participate in, including poker runs, Outlaw Barbie car challenge, obstacle course and even kids’ trick-or-treating. There will be a lot of vendors to cruise through and check out their products and find great food. Trail riding is open to the public at the event through all four days. If you and your family want some fun in the mud, head out to Mud-Toberfest presented by High Lifter!

15: OCTOBER 3
TREK THE MIGHTY MAC
Indian River, Michigan
For the first time in Michigan’s history, ATVs and UTVs will have the opportunity to cross the state’s biggest landmark, the Mackinac Bridge. Participants will drop their machines off at the staging area in Mackinaw City, Friday, October 2, between the hours of 9 a.m.–8 p.m.; the staging area will have a security guard overnight. Participants will then cross the bridge to St. Ignace with their trucks and trailers, check in at Little Bear Arena, and pick up their packet. Saturday morning a bus will pick everyone up from their St. Ignace hotel or campground and transport them to the staging area in Mackinaw City, where they will line up for the historical bridge crossing. After crossing the Mackinac Bridge, then everyone will parade through downtown St. Ignace and end up at the Little Bear Arena, where there will be lunch and an after-crossing party with a live band. On Sunday, everyone can head out on the trail next to Little Bear and enjoy riding on their own.

16: OCTOBER 7-11
PUMPKIN RUN ATV RALLY
Hurley, Wisconsin
Iron County holds 250 miles in the largest ATV trail system in Wisconsin. The Pumpkin Run ATV Rally holds a weekend-long poker run, along with great trail riding through the weekend. The views and scenic trails have breathtaking views of waterfalls, the Penokee Mountains and a great view of Lake Superior. There is a lot of fun entertainment, games and prize giveaways. Food is available as well. Mercer and Hurley Chambers join together to organize this fun event for the whole family to enjoy.
Cost: $15
Directions: From Green Bay, it’s a 200-mile trip. Take the 29 West to Rothschild. Turn right and head north up 51 to Mercer. To get to Hurley, keep heading north on 51 another 20 miles.

17: OCTOBER 8-15
NATIONAL TRAIL FEST
Gilbert, West Virginia
The Hatfield-McCoy trails provide some of the best riding around. The Rockhouse Trail is easily accessed from the host site. There are a multitude of fun activities, which starts with music and live entertainment. Stunt shows, mud-pit runs, vendor demo rides, wheelie contests and more are on the schedule. At night, everyone can enjoy fireworks displays in between the rest of the entertainment. Trail Fest has treasure hunts, poker runs and a dice run for prizes as well. This is a popular event, so register early and don’t miss out on a great time.
Cost: $80 with trail permit included.
Directions: From Charleston, take US-119 South to exit 73 East. The road turns into WV 10 and goes through Logan and Man. Take a right on WV 80 South into Gilbert.
