KUBOTA RTV-X900 OR TRACTOR?

KABOTA RTV-X900

DW FAN WRITES IN: I have a 2020 Kabota RTV-X900 with a gas-powered brush hog. I also have a small Kabota tractor with the same gas Brush Hog that I added a 3-point hitch to. That is so I only need a single Brush Hog. But when you add the length of the front-end loader, the entire unit becomes just too long for tight spaces. There are places on our property where I can’t get in around the trees. The RTV-X900 can’t get in either because of the long hitch on the tow behind Brush Hog is again too long. It keeps getting caught on the trees. Do you know of a way I can brush hog my property using the equipment I have now? Or do I need even more equipment? – Denny Wilson Dixon, CA.

OUR PRO ANSWER: I understand your frustration about purchasing even more expensive equipment, Son. There is a way but as always it “ain’t cheap!”. There is a 3-point hydraulic adapter for your Kabota that will allow you to use 3-point hitch mounted equipment on either the front or the rear of your machine. With the hitch attached and your Brush Hog snugged up tight to the rear of your Kabota (or the front), you just may have a short enough length to fit in those tight areas you mentioned. Take a look at the UTV Hitchworks “Farmboy Sport-X 3 Point Hitch Cat 1” here https://utvhitchworks.com/shop/ols/products/farmboy-x-3-point-hitch-cat-1. Or you could just cut down all the offending trees!
